There is a belief that light weights with a lot of repetitions will prevent you from getting big muscles. This is partially true. High repetitions with a low weight will build muscle endurance instead of muscle strength. This means your muscles won't grow as much. The problem is that if you want to lose weight, you are defeating the purpose of your entire program. You want your muscles to grow in strength and size to boost the number of calories your body burns every day. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn daily. Remember too that most women will not bulk up, as we lack the hormones for that to happen. To make your weight loss successful, use the weights that leave your muscles feeling used by the 12th or so repetition and you'll build muscle and get stronger and fitter!
